Peaceful Pondering

A piece I just recently finished. Done in Adobe Photoshop. It took me about five days to complete.

She is peaceful and as I painted her I felt very peaceful. It makes me wonder what she’s looking at and thinking? I imagine her hand playing with the ends of her long thick hair as she sits staring off in the distance.  Maybe she’s looking out to sea watching the waves splash against the shore rocks, waiting for her love to return.  Or maybe she’s staring at the fields of wheat outside her front porch as they wave in the wind like the waves of the ocean.

I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for viewing!

  1. This is such an interesting piece of art. I did not know you can do digital painting until now. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward on checking your new masterpiece in the future!

    • Thank you so much! I started learning computer art in school – back when it was still mostly pixelated. Blending colors was quite a different story back then, lol. But, I got a taste of it then and went back to it when we started moving around a lot when my kids were younger. And I love it so much now 🙂

  2. Very very nice Kelly’O

You did this in Photoshop? Wow, I had no idea Photoshop had come so far, or maybe I just never ventured very far in?!?

The artwork is splendid and the color’s vibrant., very impressive. She really does appear real and certainly Peaceful ~

    Thank you for sharing!!!

  3. Hey,
All I can say is wow! What I was able to take from this painting is that she is contemplating something sinister. She has the look of payback to me in her eyes. It’s crazy, because I asked my daughter what she thought of it and she said that “the girl is writing a paper and thinking about her next paragraph”. I guess it just depends on the person, from what they take from this beautiful piece. Great article.
    Cheers~

  4. Beautiful. I’ve seen so many young ladies with that same far-away look in their eyes. It always makes me think they are thinking of their most treasured dreams; those dreams they never share with Anyone else.

    I love it!

  5. I really like this photo! The detail in the hair and the eyes are truly amazing, how long did this piece take to make in photoshop?

    • Thank you! It took about five days, four to five hours each day, give or take. Most of the time, I really enjoyed it. There was one point I seemed to get stuck. I got up and walked around and was able to sit back down and finish 🙂

  6. I don’t know anything about Adobe Photoshop but that pic does look amazing. I love the details in the eyes, they definitely look as if the thoughts were so forlorn. It makes me instantly think she is thinking of her love, just past everything in plain sight and far beyond into what we want to see.

  7. Just wow! I wish I had even a fraction of your talent or patience. Bookmarking your site for mare fab art

  8. Great work here. The expression and light is perfect. I like the subtle glow around her as well. You have lots of talent. Nicely done & keep sharing!

    • Thank you very much! I love how it turned out. Some projects I start and I don’t like doing them and I put them aside for another day. But, this one was so much fun to do 🙂

  9. Love how this looks looks like a lot of hardwork I’m proud just looking at it!
